FAQs

What Makes Epic Paw Different From Other Salons or Groomers?

Epic Paw offers a one-on-one, drop-off grooming experience designed to be calm, efficient, and stress-free for your pet. Unlike traditional salons, we groom only one pet at a time, with no cages, no overlapping appointments, and no noisy environments.
Each session is focused entirely on your pet from start to finish, typically lasting 1–2 hours. Once grooming is complete, you’re notified right away for quick pickup.
We prioritize pet comfort, personalized care, and affordability, creating a grooming experience that’s simple, transparent, and gentle—for both pets and their owners.

What services do you offer?

Our standard grooming session includes a full wash, haircut or deshedding (haircuts are priced higher), nail trimming, gland expression, and ear cleaning. Each session is a one-on-one experience in our fully equipped grooming van, ensuring a stress free and efficient service for your pet.

Do I have to stay while my pet is being groomed

No, you don’t have to stay. You’re welcome to leave during the grooming session and come back once it’s done. We’ll send you a text or call as soon as your pet is ready. If you need more time, we can safely keep your pet inside our climate-controlled van until you return—just let us know in advance. We aim to keep it stress-free and convenient for both you and your pet.

What Methods of Payment Do You Accept?

We accept cash, check, and credit cards. Payments are collected when grooming is completed.

Where are You Located?

Epic Paw is a drop-off grooming service in Santa Rosa, operating from two set locations provided at booking (Montgomery Drive and West College Avenue).
Appointments are one-on-one and usually take 1–2 hours, with pickup shortly after completion.

Can I stay in the groomer VAN?

In our experience, this is usually not a good idea. You are your dog’s favorite person, so when you are present during grooming, your dog will be focused on you and not on sitting still for or cooperating with the service. There may be some occasions where the dog’s owner will be called upon to help calm or hold the dog during certain parts of the service, but generally no one else than the groomer is allowed inside the van.

How Often Is Suggested to Groom Pets?

On average, dogs should be groomed every four to six weeks, cats every 6 to 8 weeks. Of course, this depends on the owner’s ability to do daily brush outs. It also depends on your pet’s breed, coat, and how often your dog/cat is outside. You may want your dog to be groomed on a tighter schedule to keep their cuts crisp.
Do My Pets Need to Be Vaccinated? Yes, we need proof of rabies vaccination. In order to maintain a safe environment, it is our policy that dogs must be current on their rabies vaccinations. You should schedule vaccinations at least 48 hours prior to your grooming appointment. The waiting period helps to ensure your pet isn’t sore at the injection site, which can cause irritability or lethargy. We will accept a letter from your veterinarian exempting your dog from one or all the vaccinations.

Can I request the same groomer for every appointment?

Yes! If your pet feels comfortable with a specific groomer, you can request them when booking your appointment.

What If My Pet Has Special Needs or Behavioral Issues?

We may be able to accommodate pets with special conditions, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. However, it's essential that you notify us prior to your appointment about any specific needs your pet may have. This allows us to evaluate the situation and ensure we can provide a safe and effective grooming experience tailored to your pet.

How Long Does a Grooming Appointment Take?

Most grooming sessions take between 60 to 90 minutes. This may vary slightly depending on your pet's coat condition, size, and temperament. We'll send you a text as soon as your pet is ready for pickup, or you're welcome to wait nearby while we complete the service.

Does My Pet Need to Be Vaccinated?

Yes. All pets must be up to date on their rabies vaccination before their grooming appointment. If your pet is not currently vaccinated, please contact us before booking so we can discuss possible options.
